Sustainability is Our Tradition
We are Parveen and Zeba, design enthusiasts and climate advocates whose shared vision brought Crescent Street Design to life. Our journey began with a simple question: Could we create luxury stationery that honors both artistic heritage and ecological integrity? The answer was already within the craft itself.
For centuries, artisans have transformed recycled cotton rags into handmade paper, preserving resources and celebrating craftsmanship. Today, we continue this legacy, using 100% recycled cotton sourced from textile waste discarded by the garment industry. By giving new life to materials that would otherwise be wasted, we create premium handmade paper goods that carry the essence of old-world artistry.
Our creative process is shaped between New York and Connecticut, in a studio nestled in the woods—a place where ideas take their time, where we return to the essence of design as something thoughtful, lasting, and deeply connected to the past. Our designs are inspired by a dialogue between South Asian and Western sensibilities. Each item in our collection is meticulously handcrafted in South India, in small batches, embracing the principles of slow production that value quality over quantity.
Founded in 2024, Crescent Street Design is at the beginning of its journey. But in many ways, we are simply returning to what has always been true: that beauty and responsibility are woven together, that the objects we cherish should reflect the values we hold, and that sustainability is a tradition worth preserving.
